Dear families,
We begin classes again tomorrow after a two-week Christmas holiday break. I hope you are not only rested, but rejuvenated for the school year. It is sometimes hard to get back into the routines, for sure.
Mark your calendars: Our next vacation break is the week of Presidents’ Day, February 17th-21st. In April, Attleboro classes will be off the week of Patriot’s Day, the MA holiday, April 22nd and 24th. Cranston classes will be off on Good Friday, April 18th, and WILL meet on Friday, April 25th. The school year ends for us after the third week in May.
Emergency days: Sometimes due to weather we need to cancel classes. Because our families come from a distance and because our schedule isn’t exactly the same as the school systems, we do not follow a plan from any one town, but call each storm individually. Please remember:
1) You will hear by email about cancellations as soon as a decision is made; likely much sooner, but MAY be as late as 7:30 a.m. on the morning of the cancellation.
2) We do not cancel the day entirely, but meet digitally wherever possible. You will hear from individual tutors as they do not all do things the same way, but your student should be available to meet at the regular class time, AND have access to a computer with microphone and camera for distance learning. While we do not want to teach remotely regularly, we are grateful for this option that allows us to do emergency days without make-ups later.
3) When a storm comes, please feel free to send observations about the weather in your area. We want the best information possible, and that is always very helpful.
4) We understand if you do not feel safe traveling on a day when we choose to meet anyway. Please feel free to make the decision to stay home and figure out a way to attend remotely or make up the class somehow.
Tuition: is duethis week for January.
Again, welcome back!
