Dear Good Company families,

Well, we are officially at the end of the school year. In a little over two weeks our school year will wrap up.  Here are some dates for your calendars:

Anne of Green Gables

adapted and directed by Amy Gaudet, will be performed on Friday and Saturday evenings, 5/10 and 5/11, at 7:00 p.m. each night. Tickets are being sold during our school hours each day or at the door for $10.00 each. For those who attend a play, it is hard to imagine the work that goes on behind the scenes. Our hearts are full of appreciation for Amy, who has made this commitment out of her love for literature and more importantly her love for her students.

June 1st is the date for the website to be updated for the 2024/2025 school year

It is a puzzle with many working parts. Classes are offered based on availability of tutors more than any one factor. If you have suggestions, it never hurts to mention them.

Registration Workshop planned for returning families

his is our chance to share with you from our experience not only ideas for helping GCT work best, but “big picture” ideas such as goal setting and achieving, creating the high school transcript, helpful study skills, and lots of practical ideas, hopefully a few of your best ideas as well! We set them up during the last week of classes for your convenience, and hold one the week after classes end. Here are the dates/times for your convenience. Please choose one and mark your calendars now.

Tuesday, May 14th, 2:00 p.m.
Thursday, May 16th, 6:30 p.m.
Friday, May 17th, 1:00 p.m. (the only Cranston workshop)
Tuesday, May 21st, 10:00 a.m.

Q & A

1. Is the workshop required for registration? Not this year, but there will be a $25 discount at registration for those who do attend. If you are a veteran homeschooler, why not come in order to share your ideas with the group and encourage less experienced homeschoolers?
2. Will it be the same as other years? GCT is different every year, with some new challenges to replace old ones. Some of the information is sure to be the same, but we think through every year what we feel is most important for us to communicate, in some cases the things we wish someone had told us.
3. How long will it last? That depends somewhat on how the discussion goes, but about an hour to an hour and a half.
4. Is there a reason to attend a workshop in both locations? No. The workshops will have the same basic content. Attending one or the other is sufficient and it doesn’t matter which.
5. If I know people possibly interested in GCT who would like to attend, can I invite them along? Absolutely! Many have found this workshop very helpful in planning.

Have a great couple of weeks!
Julie Shorey
